Hen’s parties are a great way for girls to not only bond with their friends but also to ensure that they proceed from their present stage of being single to that of being married in a harmonious manner.
It provides girls an effective means to express their emotions in the company of their close friends and without having to worry about unnecessary male attention.

The fact that most of these parties are more than just a get together means that there is a special value attached to them. It is considered a rite of passage, just as a buck’s party is. However, hen’s parties have taken on a slightly more refined concept than buck’s parties do. The raucous, overtly sexual undertones of a buck’s party are not always the case in hen’s parties.
Hen’s parties vary according to the theme and taste of the bride to be. Since it is meant to be in honour of the bride, a hen’s party is usually done in accordance with the girl’s wishes.
There are certain elements which need to be addressed before setting out to organize a hen’s party. Hen’s parties require a certain amount of planning and foresight. Like all good parties, hen’s parties do not just happen. Someone has to know where to go and what to do.
Furthermore, the entertainment needs to be in accordance with what the bride likes. Just as important as planning, is picking a theme for the party. It does not necessarily mean that there has to be a theme for the party, but having one adds a new dimension to the party. It also helps give everyone something to do and makes them feel much more involved.
Apart from the planning phase, there is also the knowing what to plan.
It should never be ignored that the party is for the bride to be. Therefore everything should be done to ensure she is having fun. Unless it is meant to be a surprise, all other arrangements should be checked with her so that the ones she has reservations with can be shunted.
Furthermore, knowing who to invite also helps. If there are mothers and aunts on the guest list as well, it would help to tone down the excessive exuberance in case the bride to be gets uncomfortable as well.
The expenditure is usually a determining factor in finalizing the plans. The goal should be to figure out how much each friend is willing to spend and settle that before making the plans. This leaves out any possibility of confusion which might dampen the mood.
To get everyone in the mood for the party, there should be games or activities which help break the ice since not everyone will know each other. One important detail is to keep emergency supplies for the next morning, such as a few packets of Nurofen, stomach settlers and water. These come in handy when the bride or her friends have had too much fun.
