The Grease Party: Back to the 50’s
Sure, it has already been two decades ago when we sang Hopelessly Devoted to You with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. However, up until now, Grease is still not yet forgotten. In fact, Grease is actually one of the most favourite themes in parties because the attire, the food, the decorations and even the invitation can easily be customized to this suit the Grease theme. If you are organizing a Grease party, here are the things that should be considered:
The Preparation
This is a basic necessity in every party. Details should be planned out well and should not divert from the party theme. Here are some details that should be considered during the planning:Invitations
The invites should clearly reflect the Grease theme. If you will be requesting your guests to dress up in Grease-like manner, then make sure you state this clearly so no one will be confused and will dress awkwardly during the Party.
Some suggestions on how to create Grease-like invitations: 1) If you are planning to use plain paper on your invitations, you can place a picture of the signature car of Grease on the first page of the invitation. For further emphasis, the Grease word can also be placed in the invitation. 2) For those who are more adventurous, they can use a CD with a picture of grease in front. CD should look like an old tape of the 50’s. The details can be made in flash or MS powerpoint that the guests can browse through.
The Place
For the venue of the party, the place can either be rented out if you have the budget or simply create a 50’s atmosphere in your place if you are working on a tight budget. If you are renting a place, you can easily communicate your theme and specifications to your banquet manager and everything will be arranged for you.
It is also worthwhile to pick a place that already has the 50’s ambience. If you are decorating your place, you can recreate it to be like 50’s like placing a jukebox, old tapes, wigs that resembles that of John Travolta to name a few.
