The Alphabet Party is one of the most common Party themes there is.

What is the Alphabet Party?

In the Alphabet Party, the organizers can make use of letters to create your theme.  At first, the Alphabet Party may seem like a children’s party theme.  However, it may also be used for parties of adults.

What are examples of the Alphabet Party?

One example of the alphabet party is using a one letter as the overall theme of the party.  Like for instance, you would like to have an E party.  From the invitation down the program, the letter E should be given much emphasis. Like for instance, in the invitation, you can use the line, “you are invited to my extra exciting event”.

You may also use a combination of letters such as an M&M party.  In this type of alphabet party, the organizer can opt to either use the letters M&M’s all throughout the party or they can use the M&M chocolates as the main theme.

Another suggestion in the Alphabet Party is the ABC party which can be tailor fit for adults.  I remember one Christmas Party that I organized for our company with this theme.  Since the employees would like to come up with a theme that will be like a children’s party.

So, it happened, it is an event for the adults who were dressed and acted like children!  The invitations were made like the golden ticket of the movie, The Polar Express.  The presentations were set on a background like a pad paper with children’s writing and the activities resembled that of a kindergarten party.  It was really sheer fun!
There are countless ideas in coming up with Alphabet Party and what I’ve discussed were just a few.  It will largely depend on the creativity of the person organizing it.  So, do not limit yourself!

What should I wear in the Alphabet Party?

Unlike other parties, the attire in the Alphabet Party can be quite simple.  Guests may come as they are.  This is an ideal party if the guests wouldn’t want to put in much effort in dressing up.  This is actually one advantage of the alphabet party.  Guests do not have to worry about their clothes and they could save up money as well.

However, if the organisers would like the guests to dress up, here are some suggestions:

1. Guests can come up with colours of clothes that correspond to the theme letter.  Like for instance, the theme letter is G.  Then, all the guests should come in green shirts.
2. If you want the costumes to be elaborate, you may ask your guests to pick-up a letter and then dress up like a famous person whose name begins with that letter.  Let guests decide on the extent on how they would want to dress up.
3. For parties of grown-ups, you may also ask them to dress up in children’s clothing when you are using the alphabet party theme.  This will be really fun.  I attended one party with this costume before and I was surprised at the variety of the ideas the guests were able to arrive at.  We were actually kidding each other who are the rich kids and the poor kids because some guests came in gowns like a fairy while some guests came in simple shorts and t-shirts with suspenders.
